Dear Friends,

A gorgeous, sunny Sunday greets me and injects me with renewed energy. My wish
is that you all enjoyed spending time with family and friends during these last few
days. I urge you to get outside today and really take in your surroundings as you
go about your routine. It is amazing what just a few minutes of awareness can do.

Our Christmas celebration with family and friends was heartwarming. It is nice to
know that the responsibilities of our busy lives can be suspended for one day as we
set aside some hours to share the comings and goings of our year and articulate what
we hope to accomplish in the next year. Although we try to see each other more often
each year, it doesn’t always happen and I am glad that we have been able to maintain
this yearly tradition.

After everyone has gone, I feel replenished and enthusiastic about all the things that
each of us is planning or has shared. After more than fifteen years of gatherings, we
have bonded and relish the opportunity to be together once a year. This year, we
missed a beloved member who passed away a couple of months ago and welcomed a
newborn who reminded me about the cycle of life. It was wonderful to reminisce
about our children when they were babies. Time passes much too quickly.

My brother and his children are visiting us for a few days. I truly enjoy their company
and wish we lived closer so that we could see each other more often but life has taken
us in different directions and comparing notes is also delightful. I know that our father
appreciates their visits and even though our Mom can’t communicate with words, the
sparkle in her eyes reveals her inner joy when she feels herself surrounded by such love.

My very best wishes to each and every one of you for the coming year. May it be filled
with all the things you work for, desire and deserve.
