A gorgeous, bright sun is up in the sky greeting me this last Sunday of 2019. I
am hopeful that you all enjoyed celebrations that brought joy to your lives and
that many heartwarming memories were made or revived. Get out early today
and look within as well as without to fill your spirit with the contagious energy
of the season. Stretch and breathe as you walk, add a bounce to your step!
I truly enjoyed the Christmas celebration on Wednesday. Although many had
to go to work the next day, I am at that wonderful time in my life when I can
savor every moment of every holiday, regardless of where it falls in the week.
My favorite time of day is the early morning when the world is still quiet and
the air is a little brisk. This is the time I devote to quiet reflection and to plan
my day. A benefit of getting older is accepting that sometimes less is more!
After our traditional celebration, I felt a sense of satisfaction as I sat with a
cup of tea and looked around at the tables that had just hours before “hosted”
lively conversation, food and singing. I had sweet memories as we cleared
the tables, washed the dishes and placed chairs back in their proper spots.
When the last tablecloth was out of the dryer and folded, I thought about how
quickly everything ends, how important it is to focus on what really matters.
Gratitude is always present in my life. As we enjoy the last of the holidays,
I want to thank you again for keeping me in your life this year. I never lose
sight of my promise to you to bring you good tidings on Sundays, as I am
aware that all of us have plenty of sources informing us of the difficult times
our world is in. It is a privilege to share my thoughts with you. I hope you
are all the recipients of kindness and miracles in 2020. Happy New Year!
I’ll “see” you next Sunday, Marietta
